About

Windy City Metro 119 is an independent hometown news site for Chicago and Chicagoland. We gather Chicagoland’s headlines from the newsrooms that report them and back them with live city data, from the lakefront to the airports.

Headlines on Windy City Metro 119 come from a licensed news API (Mediastack) and Google News, and every one links to the outlet that reported it. Live panels for weather, water, housing and travel are built from public data, credited where they appear. Alongside the news we publish announcements from businesses and organizations, clearly labeled as press releases.
